Apologies for cross-posting
Dear Colleagues,
With the gracious support of the BPS and OMT divisions, we offer a collaborative and hands-on learning experience for the scholarly community engaged or interested in research on aspirations and performance feedback at this year's Academy of Management Annual Meeting. The PDW on New Methods and Approaches in Aspirations Research will be held on Saturday, August 6, 5:45PM - 7:45 PM at Hilton Anaheim in room 'Malibu'.
More specifically, this professional development workshop (PDW) aims to call attention to current work that draws on new methods and approaches to advance the aspirations research agenda. Guided by prominent scholars in the field, this PDW will help you identify promising research avenues as well as integrate recent conceptual and methodological developments into these novel research directions. The PDW will combine state-of-the-art research presentations, senior scholars' discussion, and participants' development of a novel research proposal. This proposal development activity will be guided by presenters, discussants, and organizers. The idea is to discuss and develop your aspirations-related research project with the help of experienced scholars in an open environment. The ultimate goal of this PDW is to advance the Carnegie School – the theoretical tradition on which much of the work on aspirations draws from – and strengthen the behavioral strategy community within the Academy of Management.
We are glad to announce the following line-up of speakers, discussants and subgroup session moderators:
- Pino G. Audia; Dartmouth College.
- Richard A. Bettis; U. of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
- Philip Bromiley; U. of California, Irvine.
- J.P. Eggers; New York U.
- Daniela P. Blettner; Simon Fraser U.
- Dongil Daniel Keum; New York U.
- Viktorie Sevcenko; London Business School.
Please register for this workshop using the approval code you can obtain from either of us. To register online, please visit https://secure.aom.org/PDWReg. The deadline to register online for this PDW is July 22, 2016. Participants are kindly asked to submit a research outline (max. 2 pages describing a novel research proposal) that relates to the topic of this PDW (to be discussed in subgroups during the PDW).
We look forward to meeting you in Anaheim!
Best regards,
Horacio Rousseau and Gertjan Lucas
