At San Diego State University, we have two major Entrepreneurship Centers: 1) The Lavin Entrepreneurship Center (curricula and co-curricula activities cross campus) and 2) The Zahn Innovation Platform (our on-campus incubator / accelerator). We are also starting a new Design Center.
1) In my capacity as Executive Director of the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center, I report directly to the Dean of the College of Business. In my capacity as a Full Professor in the Management Department, I report directly to the Chair of the Management Department on matters related to the Academic Curriculum.
2) The Director of the Zahn Innovation Platform reports directly to the Vice President for Research on campus. This Director originally reported to the Dean of Engineering. However, after a reorganization, she now reports to the VP Research.
3) The new Director of the Design Center will probably report to the VP of Research. We are interviewing for that position now.
I hope that this helps.

Hello Todd,
In the Brock School of Business at Samford University, we have a Department of Entrepreneurship, Management, and Marketing, which is home to a(n)
- Entrepreneurship major (8 courses, for Business students)
- minor (for non Business students) as well as a
- Social Entrepreneurship concentration (4 courses, for Business students)
- minor (for non Business students).
As coordinator of these programs, the Department Chair reports to the Dean of the Business School.
Hope this helps,
Franz

Dear Colleagues,
We are in the process of reorganizing the organizational structure at Gonzaga University and I need some hard evidence to make the case for entrepreneurship being a separate entity that reports directly to the Dean of SBA or AVP or President. If you are part of a program that has a Center for Entrepreneurship and/or a Major in Entrepreneurship (not just a minor) can you please let me know who you report to.
I will be more than happy to share the results with everyone. From my experience of being in the field for 25+ years, the top programs report to the Dean or higher ups.
Thank you in advance.
Todd
