Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship
The Mads Clausen Institute at the University of Southern Denmark invites
applications as Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship.
The starting date of the position is 01.08.2016 or as soon as possible
thereafter. The position as Associate Professor is permanent.
The position will be linked to research of the Innovation & Design
Engineering Section at the Mads Clausen Institute, which sees itself as an
enabler for technology-based businesses through innovation across
boundaries. The section has an international and interdisciplinary
orientation, which is reflected by the section members themselves, as well
as by the number of international students with a variety of different
backgrounds.
The Mads Clausen institute is seeking a highly motivated, outgoing person,
who is able to work in an international, interdisciplinary research team.
The applicant should be eager to work, research, and contribute across
professional, cultural and disciplinary boundaries, especially between
business and engineering. An active interaction with different kinds of
organizations who are involved in (regional) entrepreneurial activities is
expected. Further, the Mads Clausen institute is aspiring to foster
entrepreneurial activities of its students. Therefore, the applicant
should emphasize a motivational approach to entrepreneurship.
The successful candidate is expected to collaborate with existing section
members on joined research projects, to participate in attracting external
research funding and to actively develop the teaching portfolio of the
section. Experience in managing projects is highly appreciated.
Experience in research within one or preferably all of the following
topics is desired:
€ (Technology) entrepreneurship and business venturing
€ University-industry collaboration and business incubating
Responsibilities
€ Publishing in high ranked peer-reviewed journals and conferences as well
as engaging in other forms and levels of research dissemination
€ Initiating fund raising and playing an active role in securing research
funding to support the research activities of the section
€ Communicating the findings to the public in general and to regional
stakeholders of the university in particular
€ Active role in developing personal teaching skills and contributing to
the further development of specific courses and study programs at the
section
€ Contributing to the administrative responsibilities of the section

Application requirements and process
Applicants for the Associate Professor position must have a PhD degree
related to one of the above mentioned research areas. In addition, a
convincing record and potential of research and publications is expected,
as well as relevant teaching experience and strong international network
activities. At least two years of professional experience in a SME or from
entrepreneurial practice is anticipated.

informed of their assessment by the Faculty. As part of the overall
assessment of the applicant¹s qualifications, an interview may be applied.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the agreement
between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of
Professional Associations), Cirkulære om overenskomst for Akademikere i
