    Michigan State University is looking to hire someone for the subject position. The job description is below.

     

    Description

    The Director of Alumni & Entrepreneur Engagement acts as a face-to-face representative of Michigan State University's (MSU) Entrepreneurship Ecosystem to the global world of entrepreneurs, both alumni and non-alumni alike. The core objectives for this position are to raise awareness of and build advocacy for MSU student entrepreneurship programs; build a global network of engaged alumni and friends of the MSU Student Entrepreneurship Ecosystem; and develop a well-documented pipeline of engaged advocates and potential contributors of time, advice, and funding to support MSU's entrepreneurial ecosystem.


    Qualifications

    The job requires: knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in education, business, communications, public relations, advertising or marketing or a related field; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in public relations, marketing and/or in planning and coordinating educational and/or other alumni programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Desired Qualifications:  Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives from conception to completion; ability to engage and develop leadership teams consisting of volunteers; ability to build meaningful and productive relationships with collaborative partners and incorporate ingenuity into the management of a diverse portfolio of markets and associated entities therein; ability to deliver project-based results and outcomes in coordination with multiple departments with multiple interests; outstanding leadership, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, combined with an action orientation and commitment to teamwork; excellent knowledge of best practices in alumni engagement and social networking is a central component of this position; knowledge of organizational fund raising and individual donor development; a degree in a related discipline and at least 3 years' experience in alumni engagement or a related field; an advanced degree; willingness to travel no less than 25% of the time and to work nights and weekends; valid vehicle operator's license where needed to perform duties of the position; valid passport where needed to travel outside of the United States.
