    The Management and Human Resources Department at <st1:placename w:st="on">California</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">State</st1:placetype> <st1:placename w:st="on">Polytechnic</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype>, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Pomona</st1:city></st1:place> (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for one or more tenure-track faculty positions in entrepreneurship and organizational behavior. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications. The appointments will begin Fall 2007. 

    The Position:  The entrepreneurship candidate will be expected to teach courses in introduction to entrepreneurship, creating business plans, and managing emergent ventures. The organizational behavior candidate will be expected to teach courses in organizational behavior, emerging issues, and leadership. The position requires excellence in teaching and advising, professional and scholarly achievements, and service to the university. 

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Ph.D./D.B.A. required in Business or appropriate related field from an accredited university by August 2007. At least one advanced degree must be in business/management
    • demonstrated teaching excellence at undergraduate and/or graduate levels
    • professional development in the form of scholarship related to practice, the discipline, or to learning and pedagogy in the job position area is required

     

    Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

    • evidence of or potential for working effectively with multicultural constituencies and a diverse student body
    • involvement with professional associations, clients or community groups, and industry/consulting experience
    • evidence of some grant writing

     

    Application Procedure:  A completed application will consist of:

    • a cover letter that describes the candidate's teaching and research experience and interests and that addresses the duties and qualifications articulated in the position description;
    • a curriculum vitae comprised of at least those elements specified on the application form and including the names, titles, addresses, and telephone numbers of at least five individuals who can speak to the candidate's potential for success in this position; and
    • a completed application form;
    • a transcript showing highest degree earned;
    • evidence of teaching effectiveness (statement of teaching philosophy, course syllabi, and student evaluations, if available)
    • finalists for the position will be required to
      • provide three recent letters of reference
      • give a presentation about his/her research

    The position is open until filled. First consideration will be given to completed applications received no later than October 6, 2006. Early response is encouraged.

    Position Announcement
    The Department of Business Administration in the Williams School of Commerce, Economics &
    Politics at Washington and Lee University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an
    assistant professor (preferably advanced) or associate professor of business administration
    beginning in August 2014. The position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching in a
    liberal arts environment, continuing scholarly activity, and appropriate contributions to the W&L
    community including being an active participant in our Entrepreneurship Program.

    The successful applicant will teach strategic management (a core course in the business major) as
    well as entrepreneurship electives for business and accounting majors and non-majors from
    across the campus. W&L provides faculty the opportunity to develop appropriate courses that are
    of interest to the faculty member and for which there may be student demand. In particular we are
    interested in the areas of start-up creation, social entrepreneurship, venture financing, or the
    commercialization of science and technology. A Ph.D. or equivalent in an appropriate business
    discipline is required. With respect to scholarly activities, candidates should possess a record
    consistent with the rank sought. Candidates with an interdisciplinary approach incorporating the
    liberal arts, natural sciences, and/or social sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.
