    Final Call for Abstracts and Workshop Proposals for the Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (CCSBE) Conference being held at the University of Guelph, Ontario, May 25th - 27th, 2016.

    Publication Outlet: Conference's best papers will be considered to be included in the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (JSBE) and in the upcoming special issue on social entrepreneurship: "Leaders for a Sustainable World" to be published in spring 2017 (subject to JSBE peer review process).

    Abstract and Workshop Submissions Due: March 14th

    Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (CCSBE) Conference, University of Guelph, Ontario, May 25th - 27th, 2016

    The University of Guelph's College of Business and Economics and Centre for Business and Student Enterprise (CBaSE) is pleased to host the annual conference of the Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (CCSBE) in Guelph, Ontario. Entrepreneurs, educators, policy makers, business owners, students, and others interested in promoting small business and entrepreneurship are encouraged to attend this event.

    Submission Guidelines:

    Submissions should be made in Microsoft Word format. PDF formats will not be accepted. These should not exceed two (2) single-spaced pages with 1" margins in Times New Roman 12pt font, and should include:

    • Title
    • Topic(s) Discussed – a list of topics discussed will suffice

    And either:

    •  Abstract – abstracts should clearly state the purpose, method and expected findings and be no more than 500 words in length; or,
    • Presentation/Workshop/Professional Development Workshop/Panel Summary – should describe the format and content of the presentation, workshop or panel and should be no more than 500 words in length.

    All paper submissions will be peer-reviewed. Authors/Presenters/Facilitators must not, therefore, reveal their identities within the Microsoft Word document. Submissions should be emailed as an attachment with the subject "CCSBE Conference Administration" and sent to cbase@uoguelph.ca Please include the full name(s), title(s), organization(s) represented of all authors/presenters/facilitators in the email body.

    Tracks are dependent on paper themes, and may include:

    • Enterprise education
    • Gender and Enterprise
    • Rural Enterprise
    • Social, Environmental and Ethical Enterprise
    • International Entrepreneurship
    • Business creation and innovation

    Timeline:

    • Abstract and Workshop Proposal Submissions Due: March 14th
    • Notification of Acceptance: March 23rd
    • 100-word Program Summary Due: Mar. 30th
    • (Optional) Full Papers or Extended Abstracts Due: Apr. 15th

    Review Process:

    Selection for inclusion in the 2016 CCSBE Conference program will be based upon relevance to the theme, linkages to the CCSBE ethos, quality, and originality in the judgment of at least two independent reviewers. Your proposal may be selected for one of several time slots in our conference program which range from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours.

    Full academic paper submission guidelines will follow the same structure as the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship found at: www.jsbe.com
