I am teaching a go-to-market strategy course. One of the projects is an industrial waste to energy project with a proprietary patented process. We signed an NDA so I do need to be vague. They have a demonstration project going that cost $4 million to build and brings in net revue of $1 million. It has a relatively short break-even period, , and a good ROI. The firm wants to scale it and we are looking at alternative models: partnerships, franchising and licensing.
We are trying to find comparables for the franchise analysis. As you may imagine there are not a lot of franchises on this scale. We did come up with the Hampton Inn but it is pretty far afield. Does anyone have any suggestions for large size franchises, perhaps, even on the industrial side?
Thanks,
Fredric
