from my friend and colleague in Brazil, Fabio Kon <fabio.kon@gmail.com>

Please, help us disseminate the CFP in both local and world-wide mailing lists. Also, please encourage your colleagues and acquaintances that deal with this subject to submit a paper to our workshop.

Let's craft a strong program for the workshop and help build the international community on software startup research.

    Regards,
    Fabio.

    CALL FOR PAPERS

2nd INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON SOFTWARE STARTUPS

co-located with the 22nd ICE/IEEE International Technology Management Conference

    Trondheim, Norway, June 13th, 2016

The world has been witnessing the rapid spread of software startups
around different corners of the globe. A combination of infrastructure
development, such as cloud computing, mobile software development, and
easy-to-use tools have significantly accelerated the rise of software
startups by reducing the cost of doing it. Besides, an increasing
number of accelerators, incubators, and mentors provide the "know-how"
of doing a startup, contributing to a growing number of software
    startups.

Currently, startup failure rate is still high. About 90% of the
startups end up as failure. Success is accidental. Many high-tech
startups are still experiencing problems of lacking systematic
methodologies on business, product, team, and market
development. Without a scientific foundation, it is hard to explain,
to learn from startup failures, and to repeat successes. The question
is how to extract and synthesize knowledge from software startups and
contribute to creating a set of guidelines and best practices to
increase entrepreneurial success rates.  This workshop intends to
bring together the technological, methodological, and operational
perspectives on software startups. The aim of the workshop is to
gather industrial and academic minds together to explore the
potentials and synergies underlying these perspectives. As a result of
the session, participants will have a clearer understanding of the
current research activities and future directions in software startup
research worldwide.  After the success of the 1st Software Startup
Workshop in Bolzano, Italy, in 2015, we would like to encourage
researchers and entrepreneurs to submit their original research
results or their startup experience reports as the means for discussion
and reflection. Due to the emerging and nascent nature of these
topics, conceptual or position papers with original insights are also
welcome. The topics listed below are only suggestive and serves to
    solicit more interesting related topics:

    * Impact of new technological trends on software startups
    * Lean startup concepts and their implication to software business
    * Customer/Consumer Development
    * Underlying theories/principles for software startups
    * Startup Ecosystems
    * Requirements Engineering in software startups
    * Agile approaches in software startups
    * Design Thinking in software startups
    * Marketing practices in software startups
    * User involvement practices in software startups
    * Analyses, challenges and opportunities in funding software startups
    * Scientific evaluation of software startups and ecosystems
