Position: Assistant or Associate Professor
Entrepreneurship & Small Business
Position Start Date: July 1, 2007 or later
Applications are invited for a position in Entrepreneurship and Small Business in the I.H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba ( www.umanitoba.ca/asper ). The appointment will be tenure track at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position requires a strong research orientation with a principal teaching and research focus in entrepreneurship including the ability to teach in one of the areas of technology commercialization, new venture development or venture financing. Experience with graduate programs would also be beneficial. Duties include research, supervision of graduate students, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and professional service within the University community.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship (or related discipline), have demonstrated success in university teaching, a record of publication and an active research program. They must also be motivated and have the ability to contribute to our graduate programs.
The I.H. Asper School of Business is the principal business school in the province of Manitoba and is accredited by the AACSB. It has 1800 students and is located in the Drake Centre, a modern, state-of-the-art physical facility with excellent computer facilities and equipment. It has 54 full-time faculty members with 10 in the Department of Marketing and offers undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. programs. A faculty-based M Sc program has recently been approved.
The University of Manitoba is located in Winnipeg; a cosmopolitan city with a population of over 650,000.
