    The Department of <st1:personname w:st="on">M</st1:personname>anagement is seeking applications for a tenure track or tenure position(s) at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The appointment will be effective Fall 2007. Desired areas of interest include: Business and Corporate Strategy, Healthcare Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Organization Theory. Applicants must either possess a doctorate or must be ABD status and within a year of completion to be considered. Commitment to high quality research and teaching is required. The department supports, encourages, and rewards quality research and publication.

     

    UTA is located in the center of the <st1:city w:st="on">Dallas</st1:city>/<st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Fort Worth</st1:city></st1:place> metroplex with an affordable and diverse quality of life and many opportunities for business and industry contacts.     The Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Management. The Management Department consists of 15 full-time faculty members in the functional areas of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, Strategy and Entrepreneurship, International Business, and Managerial Communication. 

     

    Job Qualifications:

    Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in management and be a senior associate or full professor with an outstanding record of research and teaching in management. Applicants from any of the above functional areas of management will be considered. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership and communications skills and will have the willingness and experience to work with a strong management team in The Belk College of Business. The ideal candidate will also have the willingness and ability to interact closely with the business community to achieve the goals and objectives of the Department and College. A strong commitment to MBA and graduate education is expected.

    University of Fortaleza – UNIFOR / Brazil

    Position:
    Assistant / Associate Professor in Marketing / International Marketing.

    Description:
    The Department of Graduate studies in Management seeks qualified and talented
    candidates for one or more full-time, tenure-track positions at all ranks. The
    position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.

    Courses at the University of Fortaleza - UNIFOR - are primarily taught in
    Portuguese, with a growing number of courses in English. Teaching
    responsibilities at the undergraduate and graduate level can be initially in
    English, but it is expected that the candidate will acquire knowledge in
    Portuguese by the end of the second year of his/her contract.

    The University provides plenty of time to carry out academic research projects.
    Research funding opportunities are available from the Brazilian government. The
    salary depends on the qualifications of the candidate (a reference is roughly
    US$ 55,000 / p.a. which compares favorably with salaries in Europe considering
    lower living costs in Brazil).

    The University of Fortaleza – UNIFOR –, founded in 1973, is the largest private
    university in the Northeastern region of Brazil and belongs to one of Brazil´s
    largest industrial conglomerates with activities in the gas distribution,
    mining, refrigerator and stove manufacturing, beverages, agribusiness and
    communications industries.

    Currently, more than 25,000 students are enrolled in the university´s 30+
    undergraduate, five M.Sc., two PhD and several specialization courses. The
    department of graduate studies in management currently hosts a M.Sc. course and
    intends to establish a Ph.D. degree course. We seek candidates who are committed
    to contributing to a new quality programme and to the increasing international
    activities of the university. The university administration will help the
    candidate to obtain a visa / work permit for Brazil.

    Fortaleza, capital of the Ceará state and currently Brazil`s fourth largest
    town, is located conveniently within a 6.5 hours flight from Europe and has
    direct connections to Africa, and all major Brazilian conurbations. Many nearby
    seaside and mountain resorts provide an enjoyable environment for leisure,
    aquatic sports, hiking or paragliding. The tropical climate is pleasant with
    average temperatures of 27 degrees centigrade all the year around.

    Qualifications:
    The applicant must have earned a PhD degree or be close to completion.
    Candidates should be promising scholars, committed to research and teaching.
    Some experience in supervising graduate students is desirable. We also expect
    candidates to adapt successfully to a new working and cultural environment, to
    have entrepreneurial spirit and the capacity to publish in internationally
    recognized scholarly journals.

    West Virginia State University would like to hire a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor  for  Business Strategy/International Business  or Business Strategy/Entrepreneurship beginning  Spring Semester of 2011. 

     

    Responsibilities:  Teach both graduate and undergraduate students.  Advise students, and teach courses as needed to meet student/department needs including traditional and on-line courses, participate in university service and collaborate in program development.

     

    Qualifications:  Ph.D. or D.B.A. in a discipline from an accredited university program. Commitment to excellence in teaching and an active scholarly and research agenda are required. Prior college/university level teaching experience and/or industry experience is preferred. Versatility to teach various combinations of Business courses, and experience using electronic course management systems are a plus. ABDs will be considered if dissertation will be successfully defended by August 2011.

    The Management group at the Dr. Robert B. Pamplin, Jr., School of Business Administration seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship/Innovation Management beginning August 2011.  The University of Portland is a Catholic university with AASCB-accredited undergraduate and MBA programs.
     
    Candidates must have a Ph.D. or ABD status in Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Technology Management or an allied field.  Successful candidates will define their career path as that of scholar/teacher, with a strong interest in serving students, the larger community, and the academic profession. Teaching expectations are nine hours (three courses per semester), and typically include both undergraduate and MBA courses.  Teaching interests should include, Entrepreneurship, New Product Development, and Strategic Management of Innovation.  A secondary interest in either Strategic Business Controls or Cross-Cultural Management is a plus. While teaching is central at the University of Portland, scholarship remains important. We expect research to be published on a regular basis in quality peer-reviewed journals.

    The Department of Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (MIE) at North Carolina State University’s College of Management invites applications for an open rank position in entrepreneurship, management of technology and/or innovation management to begin August, 2011.     Job SummaryThe Management Department in the School of Business, University of Connecticut, is searching for an outstanding scholar in the area of strategy/entrepreneurship to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of full professor who will also serve as the Department Head of the Management Department. Qualified scholars will be eligible for the Wolff Chair in Strategic Entrepreneurship. 

     

    The Management Department, one of five departments in the School of Business, actively engages in research in strategy, organization behavior, entrepreneurship, and globalization.     As the incoming head of the department, the successful candidate will report to the Dean of the School, serve on the Dean's council and assume responsibility for leading the department to the next level of research and teaching eminence. Specifically, the department head will be responsible for managing the department's fiscal and human resources; fostering excellence in research, education, and service; recruiting, mentoring and retaining a diverse and talented faculty; and, contributing to the reputation and overall welfare of the School and the University.

     

    Minimum Qualifications: All candidates must hold a PhD in management or a related field, a record of research as evidenced by publications in top scholarly journals and teaching and scholarly activity that would support appointment to the rank of a tenured Professor of Management. In addition, candidates must have the ability to lead the Management Department, maintain a highly productive research program, and provide leadership in developing pedagogical practices that will meet the needs of our students.

     

    Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with an on-going, highly productive research program; administrative experience in a multi-disciplinary university; outstanding leadership and management abilities; commitment to and experience in mentoring of junior faculty and attracting, retaining and graduating doctoral students; the ability to create and support a collaborative research and learning community; commitment to faculty governance and collegiality; demonstrated ability to work effectively with and communicate with many diverse constituents including industry leaders, state legislators, students, alumni, school administrators, as well as academic researchers; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.

     

    Appointment Terms:  The salary of the position will be highly competitive and commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience, consistent with School of Business and University policies.    Tenure-track faculty appointments are 9-month term and the Department Head responsibilities represents one additional month effort.  Candidates may work at the University of Connecticut's main campus located in Storrs, in the scenic northeast corner of the state, and/or the campuses at Avery Point, Hartford, Stamford, Torrington, Waterbury, and West Hartford.

    Colorado State University

    The Department of Management in the College of Business at Colorado State
    University announces a nine-month special appointment position (non-tenured,
    with benefits) for an individual with expertise in Entrepreneurship,
    Strategic Management and/or International Management. A Ph.D. degree (or
    ABD) in business administration, management, or a related field is required.
    Qualified applicants must have a proven record of excellence in teaching
    management courses. The normal teaching load for this position is four
    sections per semester to be determined by the department chair. Although
    this is a non-tenure track position, the department hopes to attract a
    candidate who wishes to make a long term commitment. The rank for this
    position will be Special Assistant, Special Associate, or Special Full
    Professor, depending on experience. Salary is also very competitive,
    commensurate with qualifications and experience. The start date will be
    August of 2013.

    The Department of Management has a strong record of teaching and research
    accomplishments, and expects faculty members to be active in the academic
    community. Preferred qualifications are (a) the ability to contribute to a
    collegial atmosphere in the Department and the College, (b) experience
    teaching entrepreneurship or strategic management courses, (c) experience
    with entrepreneurial ventures, (d) a willingness to contribute to
    departmental service, such as advising student organizations or serving on
    honors theses, and (e) the ability to meet and maintain AACSB academic

    The successful candidate will demonstrate entrepreneurial drive and talent, evidence of creativity and leadership success in program development and management, the supervisory skills to manage a team of 50 staff (through  their direct reports), the ability to provide effective strategic and financial oversight of the School's resources, and compelling oral and written communication skills.  Critically important are a collaborative leadership style, the ability to develop consensus across multiple constituencies, a commitment to student engagement, and the capacity to partner with faculty, administrators and staff across the institution to advance the college's goals.  Fund raising is a shared responsibility across Babson's entire leadership team.  A Ph.D. or J.D. is required, as are the credentials and achievements necessary to achieve the rank of tenured full professor.

            Babson College is inviting applications for the Bertarelli Foundation Distinguished Professor of Family Entrepreneurship.  We seek a global thought leader in the area of family enterprising with a significant and active research and publication record. We particularly seek a scholar who looks at family enterprises through the lens of the family as the primary unit of analysis, and whose work brings new perspectives to the study of family businesses. Candidates who integrate the connection between entrepreneurship and other disciplines and who bring a global perspective to their teaching and research are particularly welcomed. The Bertarelli Foundation Distinguished Professor of Family Entrepreneurship will also be a dedicated and successful teacher of entrepreneurship who will teach effectively to multiple audiences of students and family business leaders.

           Applicants must possess a Ph.D in Entrepreneurship or related discipline.  Applications who consider family enterprising from disciplines other than management, (e.g., anthropology, sociology, economic geography), and who bring interdisciplinary perspectives to family enterprising are encouraged to apply.

           Priority will be given to those candidates who also have experience working in family enterprises or other entrepreneurial endeavors (starting, owning or running a venture, corporate venturing, social venturing) or working with entrepreneurs (private equity, banking, policy, economic development).     Tenure-track faculty position at EMLYON Business School
    ASSOCIATE OR FULL PROFESSOR OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP

    The Department of Strategy & Organization at EMLYON Business School seeks to appoint a faculty member at the Full Professor or Associate Professor rank. The position will commence in January 2015 (although a later appointment by September 2015 is possible too). This position is open for EMLYON Business School’s Europe campus in Ecully, 10kms west of Lyon. EMLYON Business School is a leading school in Europe, well known for its involvement in the field of entrepreneurship through a range of diversified activities (research, teaching, incubation, etc.) The entrepreneurship research and teaching team includes 12 faculty members all part of the Strategy & Organization Department, one of whom has been elected to the Entrepreneurship Board of AOM.

    Candidates should hold a Ph.D., have a strong research program and good teaching abilities. To be considered for a position at the associate professor level, applicants should have a strong stream of research with publications in highly regarded entrepreneurship journals such as the Journal of Business Venturing or Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice and generalist journals as well, such as those of the Academy of Management. To be considered for a position at the full professor level, applicants should have demonstrated strong leadership skills in a managerial position with a team of researchers in entrepreneurship and have a strong academic network. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of top-quality research potential and teaching excellence shown by evaluations. Regarding teaching, applicants should expect to teach core courses in entrepreneurship at different levels and various environments (MSc, MBA, PhD, possibly executive). The teaching load will be defined on a personal basis, and will depend on the publications and the (potential) managerial responsibilities. The language of instruction at EMLYON is both French and English. However, speaking French is not a requirement and for non-French candidates support in learning French will be provided.

    Full-Time Non-Tenure Track Position in Management

     

    The University of Nebraska at Kearney seeks applicants for a full-time lecturer position in the Department of Management. The successful applicant will be expected to provide undergraduate students a solid foundation in operations management and business statistics.

     

    Required qualifications include: Master's degree in business or related field. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Combination of academic preparation and industry experience relevant to the teaching requirements for this position. The successful candidate must meet AACSB standards for faculty qualifications.

     

    Preferred qualifications include: Ph.D. (or DBA) in Business or related field. Previous university teaching experience including developing syllabi, creating learning activities that stimulate student engagement and critical thinking, and developing appropriate evaluative methods. Evidence of scholarly productivity. Previous industry-related experience.

    ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT

    MILLER COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

    Tenure-track faculty position with specialty in strategy available August 19, 2016.  Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in strategy and other courses in the department of Management, including both on campus and online courses; conducting research leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals; and engaging in service to the department, college, university and profession.  Minimum qualifications:  PhD in Management or other business-related field (ABD near completion will be considered but degree must be completed by August 1, 2016).  Evidence of scholarly research and teaching experience in management or other business-related field.  Teaching experience in management or business-related field.  Preferred qualifications:  PhD in strategy or other business-related field.  Full time teaching experience in strategy or other business-related field at the university level, including teaching experience with new technologies.  Significant record of publications in refereed journals in the strategy or management area sufficient to support application at associate professor level.
