Since 1996 Babson has required its first-year students to start a business as part of coursework.  Each year we have 38 new businesses starting and with such scale come challenges.  Particularly we are looking to learn from other schools operating similar courses how you handle the banking system (e.g. are students creating new checking accounts through a bank or are they using a system within the university umbrella.  We are in the process of reviewing our current banking system.  If you have any insights please contact me directly.

    Hello
In Mexico @Tec de Monterrey Campus Toluca we used to have a similar activity, regarding the banking issues what we did for solving the "problem" was to open 3 accounts (because we had 3 teams-companies each year) where two professors were the "owners" of the accounts, and the only ones with a "valid signature". At the end of each "fiscal year" with the help of a CPA students presented the final results, payed taxes and "reset" the same account in order to use it for the next generation.

    All,

I am very interested in something similar for E-Commerce settings.  I am teaching my renovated course on E-Commerce and Digital Entrepreneurship, where students enjoy IT settings and use for their entrepreneurship.  This is my first time teaching of this kind and I face lots of issues to overcome, including aspects of 'starting business as their course/curricular work'.

Any thought sharing and advise (even criticism) are greatly appreciated.  FYI, you may find my course materials online if interested http://inoueatsushi.wordpress.com/

Thank you in advance for your attention and consideration.
