The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is recruiting an Entrepreneurship/Strategic Management Lecturer
The University of Tennessee's Haslam College of Business invites applications for a Lecturer position with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University. This non-tenure track renewable position would reside in the Department of Management and the typical teaching load will be 7-8 courses per academic year, which is negotiable depending on candidate qualifications. The effective dates of employment will be August 1, 2016, or when filled. Compensation will be competitive for this 9-month position.
Minimum Required Qualifications: A graduate degree from an accredited institution with an emphasis in entrepreneurship, strategic management, or related discipline.
Desired Qualifications: A Ph.D. from an accredited institution with an emphasis in entrepreneurship, strategic management, or related discipline. A demonstrated record of high-quality and innovative teaching in entrepreneurship or entrepreneurship and strategic management is strongly desired. The ability to contribute toward a collegial classroom and work environment. Work experience relevant to entrepreneurship (e.g., as an entrepreneur or investor, internal venturing experience, or experience mentoring entrepreneurs).
Haslam College of Business and Department Background
The Haslam family provided a $50 million naming gift to the College of Business Administration in 2014. The Haslam College of Business is AACSB accredited, with over 130 faculty serving approximately 5,500 undergraduate and graduate students. Classes are taught in the state-of-the-art James A. Haslam II Business Building, which opened in 2009.
The Department of Management offers two undergraduate degrees, a master's degree in human resource management, a minor in entrepreneurship, and a Ph.D. degree in Organizations & Strategy. The department also includes the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Our faculty are consistently recognized for exemplary teaching contributions, and we care deeply about the learning and success of our students.
The Knoxville Area
Knoxville is located in east Tennessee, with a metro area of more than 500,000. It is near the Smoky Mountain National Park, Cherokee National Forest, and is known for outdoor activities and beautiful surroundings. Knoxville also enjoys a mild climate, an excellent downtown, very reasonable cost of living, and non-stop air service to seventeen cities nationwide. Knoxville is home to several large corporations and is close to the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
