The University of Colorado - Boulder's Global Entrepreneur in Residence (GEIR) program is entering its second year. It invites talented, non-US nationals to come to, and work in, Boulder, a hotbed of start-up activity, supported by the University's H-1B visa program. The vision for the program is to allow GEIRs to use this opportunity to engage in the cross-campus entrepreneurship initiative at CU-Boulder while also starting, or continuing to work on, their own companies. The GEIR Program integrates global entrepreneurial talent into our cross-campus entrepreneurship initiatives, encouraging interactions with students, faculty and staff. It provides non-U.S. nationals:
--An opportunity to work part-time on campus for up to 20 hours per week, supporting the CU-Boulder entrepreneurship and commercialization efforts, including the New Venture Challenge, a wealth of teaching, research and extracurricular activities, and Catalyze CU (our campus accelerator).
--Where appropriate, an opportunity to apply for a Cap Exempt H-1B Visa from the University and a second H-1B Visa for an existing (or future) start-up enterprise (which would also be Cap Exempt due to the University Visa).
--A foundation to help grow a business in the very supportive, collaborative, and dynamic entrepreneurial community of Boulder, Colorado.
Please encourage talented, non-US nationals in your network who are interested in working on their business in Boulder and being integrated into the Univ of Colorado community to apply. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE APRIL 15, 2016.
To apply, send a resume, cover letter, and statement of interest to GEIR-apply@colorado.edu.. GEIR terms will begin September 1, 2016 on a one-year basis with an opportunity to renew for up to three years.
