The Strategic Management Department in the Fox School of Business at Temple University, Philadelphia, invites applications for a faculty position. This will be a full-time, tenure-track appointment beginning in fall 2016. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Strategy (or in the final stages of dissertation) and demonstrate the potential for research and teaching excellence. This is a 'rank open' position, with a preference for fresh-minted PhDs and senior assistant professors.
The department is home to a vibrant research community with interests that intersect strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship and global business. Through this advertised position, we hope to further strengthen our existing strategy expertise, preferably in the domains of technological innovation and entrepreneurship. Accordingly, candidates working in these areas would be particularly attractive to us.
In recent years, our faculty have published in the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Global Strategy Journal, Research Policy, and Journal of Business Venturing, among others. The Fox School has made major strides in recent years, and offers a very supportive environment for research. Our recently revamped doctoral program offers strong possibilities to work with talented and motivated students. Our salary and research support are highly competitive with major research universities, and the teaching load for deserving candidates will be nine credits in an academic year.
Philadelphia is an attractive, vibrant city, with a modest cost-of-living and (usually) friendly weather.
Interested applicants should e-mail their cover letter and curriculum vitae to Prof. MB Sarkar, Recruiting Committee Chair at
