  • 1.  Journal to publish entrepreneurial intentions

    Posted 01-14-2016 04:21
    Dear colleagues,

What could be some good journals to publish a research related to the effect of contextual interplay (e.g. social, educational, personal and cognitive factors) on the entrepreneurial intentions of students from varying universities?

Currently, I am considering the following journals:

    1. Entrepreneurship and Regional Development
    2. Journal of Business Venturing
    3. Journal of Small Business Management
    4. International Small Business Journal

Also, is anyone aware of a special issue coming out along these lines?

    Please advice.

    Kind regards,
    Dr Shehryar

    Dear Muhammad

I think you will find it difficult to interest any of these journals in a paper about student intentions. Unfortunately the topic is pretty tired and interesting novel contributions are rare.
    Sincerely

I absolutely agree with Alistair's observation, given the journals you mentioned. That said, there are more than 120 English-language, refereed journals in entrepreneurship and finding some that would take it should be possible. You can look at my list at: http://www.slu.edu/eweb/connect/for-faculty/infrastructure/core-publications-in-entrepreneurship-and-related-fields

Some time when I get a chance I'll update the list (I suspect it is over 150 journals now), but it is a start for you.

In a recent paper of ours in the "International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal (IEMJ)" we review more than 400 journal articles in entrepreneurial intentions, you can have a very good idea of which journals have recently published in this field.

I would like to invite you to also consider the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research (IJEBR) since your topic has a human/behavioral aspect. We at IJEBR specialize in developing, promoting and advocating that type of entrepreneurial research.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you would like any additional information.
