The Cameron School of Business at the University of St. Thomas (UST) in Houston, Texas is inviting applications for a senior scholar to assume the roles of McNair Chair in Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship and Director of the McNair Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.
The University of St. Thomas is a private Catholic University committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education.
The Cameron School of Business educates students of diverse backgrounds, teaching professional skills necessary for a changing global economy and instilling a deep appreciation for ethical behavior inspired by the educational tradition of the founding Basilian Fathers. Small classes and a low student-to-faculty ratio assure individual attention. The Cameron School of Business has achieved accreditation of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The McNair Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship was established through the generosity of Robert and Janice McNair. The McNair Chair holder will contribute to the missions of the School and University, promote innovation and entrepreneurship, and provide leadership in curriculum development, scholarship, and teaching in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship. The McNair Chair holder will plan and lead the activities of the Center for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, contributing to the impact of the school in the areas of business education and research. In addition to teaching in the undergraduate and/or graduate business programs and maintaining a strong and active research agenda in the fields of business and/or entrepreneurship, the endowed chair will extend outreach to build relationships with other programs on campus and the business community.
We seek an individual with a background in business, a doctorate in a relevant business discipline or an MBA with distinguished entrepreneurial career, a distinguished scholarly record in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation, and proven teaching excellence at all levels with a record of quality entrepreneurship teaching and pedagogy development. The ideal candidate should be willing to work with other faculty on joint research projects, to develop partnerships in the business community, and to mentor students in all aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship. Experience working as an entrepreneur or working with entrepreneurs is preferred.

The holder of the Endowed Chair of Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship will report to the Dean of the Cameron School of Business. Academic rank of the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience and credentials. The appointment will begin Fall 2016.
