Calling all Women Entrepreneurs and Women Investors

Applications are now open for the Babson Breakaway Challenge.  This signature event is open to women entrepreneurs growing consumer products and service based businesses.  Up to fifteen semifinalists will receive mentoring from experienced, successful venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, and have the opportunity to pitch their business plan. Six finalists are selected for a six-week intensive mentoring program leading up to the final pitch.

Breakaway will award the winning startup with $250,000  in funding including a brand identity platform.

In order to address the gender gap in venture capital, applications are open for women interested in pursuing a career in venture capital.  Women aspiring to become venture capitalists may apply for the venture capital apprentice program. These women will receive training and mentoring as part of this signature event. The top venture capital apprentice will receive a summer internship.  For further information, please email Meg DeMarco, Associate Director of Programs for the Center for Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership at mdemarco2@babson.edu
