Role model elevator pitch

    Posted 12-11-2015 03:01
    Hello everyone:

I am looking for a role model elevator pitch video, preferably in
English and not longer than 3 minutes that I can use in class. I have
been going through dozens of Shark Tank, Dragons' Den etc. videos on
YouTube but am not really satisfied with what I found.

Can somebody please suggest such a video with somebody who is telling a
compelling story and is doing nearly everything right?

    Very much appreciated,

    Andreas

    HI Andreas,

I've started using some clips from HBO's Silicon Valley and can suggest this clip for the opposite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-GVd_HLlps (obviously only the first half).

There's more good stuff in the series to illustrate other concepts (IMHO) that you ca find on Youtube.

    Best regards,

It's a bit longer 5-minute pitch, but I think this one from ABC Accelerator's first batch was pretty good.

If it's too long, I'd go looking for pitches from other accelerator demo days or 90-second pitches from startup conferences.

    Hello Professor Kuckertz:

Here's a 2-minute one that does a pretty good job covering the major issues like market size, value proposition, traction, and profit potential.  The presenter should probably pause to take a breath at some point, but I'm guessing he was facing a 2-minute time limit.

    Dear Professor Kuckertz,

In our Silicon Valley Immersion Certificate Program at the University of San Francisco School of Management, we teach the 90-second elevator pitch to students from around the world. In preparation for their final pitch presentations in the program, we refer them to many great examples, including these two very short pitches:

Thank you to all for sharing many other fantastic examples here as well.

    Sincerely,
    Jenny

Here's a 2-minute one that does a pretty good job covering the major issues like market size, value proposition, traction, and profit potential.  The presenter should probably pause to take a breath at some point, but I'm guessing he was facing a 2-minute time limit.

I use Michael Siebel's talk from Lecture 19 of Sam Altman's "How to Start a Startup." He provides formulas for 30-second and two-minute pitches. The link is cued up for the beginning Michael's talk.
Ditto on the Wand Company's pitch.
