    TENURE TRACK POSITION SMALL BUSINESS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP

    The Department of Innovation Management & Strategy (IMS) at the Faculty of
    Economics and Business of the University of Groningen, the Netherlands,
    has an opening for a (junior) tenure track position in Small Business and
    Entrepreneurship.

    Our IMS department contributes to several programs at the bachelor and
    master level, to the research master and to the PhD training program of
    the research school SOM. The department offers three Master of Science
    programs – in Strategy & Innovation, in Small Business & Entrepreneurship,
    and in Business Development. The department covers a variety of interests
    and backgrounds, and embraces a range of research approaches and methods
    with a keen focus on quality. We focus on applied as well as fundamental
    research questions.

    Job description
    We are looking for high-potential candidates in the area of Small Business
    and Entrepreneurship, with an ability to publish work in international top
    peer-reviewed journals. Research will be on Small Business and/or
    Entrepreneurship topics and themes. The successful candidate will be
    teaching in bachelor and master courses with a focus on Small Business and
    Entrepreneurship. The candidate will have a research focus on Small
    Business and Entrepreneurship; research time is allocated according to
    standardized procedures. Involvement in supervision of PhD students and
    acquisition of externally funded research projects are expected.

    Requirements
    1. A finished PhD in a relevant field (Small Business,
    Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Economics).
    2. Author of at least three international publications in peer
    reviewed journals.
    3. Excellent teaching abilities.
    4. Ability to attract research funding.
    5. International network;
    6. Organizational qualities and excellent communication skills.

    Conditions of employment.
    The level of the appointment (assistant or associate professor) depends on
    the qualifications of the candidate. Depending on qualifications, the
    position is offered for a five year period, with the possibility of a
    tenured position afterwards. In case you do not fully meet the
    requirements for an assistant professor, a two year appointment in a
    junior position is possible.

    The salary, according to university standards in the Netherlands, depends
    on research years of experience and qualifications and ranges between E
    3,195 to E 4,970 (assistant professor) and E 4,428 to E 5,920
    (associated professor) for a fulltime position (40 hour workweek). In
    addition, there are a 8% holiday allowance and a 8,3 % end of year bonus.
    Preferable starting date: September 1st, 2010.
