DEAN, UNDERGRADUATE SCHOOL
Babson College invites applications and nominations for the position of
Dean, Undergraduate School. Babson College, located in Wellesley, MA, is a
private institution offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in
management. The college integrates an interdisciplinary liberal arts core
with a business management curriculum that has been recognized for its
innovation and curricular reform. Babson has been acclaimed both nationally
and internationally for its leadership in entrepreneurship. The college
enrolls over 1,700 full�time undergraduate and 1,400 graduate students,
and has 160 full�time faculty.
The college seeks an experienced, energetic individual who will be the
primary
advocate for the Undergraduate School within and outside the College. The
Dean will be responsible for providing leadership and vision to the
Undergraduate School for all academic, fiscal, and personnel matters.
Responsibilities will include the strategic implementation of all
administrative
and academic endeavors (including Babson's award�winning integrated
curriculum and its assessment initiatives), extension of the college's
internal
and external strategic partnerships, participation in fundraising
activities,
and management of all academic administrative departments, including
admissions, financial services, registrar, academic services, and career
development.
The ideal candidate will have a solid record of successfully achieving the
academic and administrative objectives necessary to support the mission,
vision, and strategy of an innovative entrepreneurial institution. Other
qualities sought include a record of strong scholarly achievement, a
collaborative team�based leadership style, strong interpersonal and
communication skills, and an innovative approach to solving problems.
Requirements for the position include a doctoral degree, a commitment to
the values of an integrated undergraduate education, proven ability with
faculty development, a commitment to diversity and global awareness, and
high academic and ethical standards.
