    2006 Entrepreneurship Division Doctoral Consortium
This is being reposted at the request of the Doctoral Consortium group!
Encourage your students to consider this great opportunity!

The Entrepreneurship Division will sponsor a consortium for doctoral
students during the 2006 annual meetings of the Academy of Management in
Atlanta, Georgia. The Consortium brings together doctoral students and
experienced faculty to discuss opportunities and challenges as scholars and
teachers in the field. This year, the program includes panels and
discussions on the craft of scholarly writing, building an academic career
in entrepreneurship, publishing in leading scholarly journals, and theory
building in entrepreneurship. The Consortium will begin at about noon on
    Friday, August 11, 2006 and continue until 12:30 p.m., Sunday, August 13,
2006. There will be a dinner with senior faculty on Friday evening.

The Consortium is open to doctoral students who have completed approximately
two years of their Ph.D. program. The ideal candidate will have finished
his/her coursework and be engaged in preparing a dissertation proposal. To
apply, please submit the following documents electronically: (1) an
application form that contains all your contact information (address, phone
number, fax, and e-mail address); (2) a recommendation letter from your
dean, department chair, or major advisor that describes your status in the
doctoral program; (3) a current resume/CV; in your resume, please identify
whether you have attended other doctoral consortia and, if so, which
consortia and when; and (4) a working paper. The working paper must be on
an entrepreneurship topic and can be a paper that you are moving towards
publication or a summary of your dissertation topic (should not exceed 35
pages). The working paper is a key requirement for admission.

Priority will be given to applications received on or before May 1, 2006.
The final date to submit an application is June 15, 2006. The consortium
will be limited to 25 PhD students with slots allocated based on application
materials. For information contact Co-chairs, Tom Lumpkin, tlumpkin@uic.edu
or Jeff Covin, covin@indiana.edu . We anticipate being able to offer
participants financial support of approximately $500 (pending approval, to
be provided at the end of the consortium by the Kauffman Foundation).
