    Renewable Term Position in Entrepreneurship in the <st1:placename w:st="on">Price</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype> of Business at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Oklahoma</st1:placename></st1:place>

     

    The Division of Management in the Michael F. Price College of Business at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Oklahoma</st1:placename></st1:place> is seeking applicants for a Renewable Term position starting in January or August, 2010.

     

    Rank:                           Instructor, Lecturer, Renewable Term Assistant or Associate Professor

                                        dependent on qualifications.  Earned doctorate/Juris Doctor

    required for ranks beyond instructor or lecturer.

     

    Salary:                          Open and Competitive based on applicable experience.  Additional summer teaching opportunities may be available. 

     

    Position Structure:         This is a renewable term position which is not eligible for tenure.  The successful candidate will be offered up to a five year contract, which while eligible for unlimited renewals, is also subject to continuation review during each renewal cycle.  The successful candidate will be eligible for the same internal resources (e.g. teaching grants and awards, graduate student support etc.) as tenure-track faculty.  The candidate is eligible for promotion as per applicable Price College Renewable Term Position Policy Guidelines (available on request).The successful candidate will be supervised jointly by the Director of the Division of Management and the VP for Technology Development or his/her designate.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Maintain qualification for Renewable term Reappointment per applicable Price College Renewable Term Position Policy Guidelines (available on request)
    • Support the Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth (CCEW) under the supervision of the VP for Technology Development or his/her designate. This includes:
      • Teaching/Leading CCEW/Price MBA summer internship program
      • Advising CCEW/Price College business plan competition entries
      • Leading and/or assisting with the Sooner Launch Pad outreach program
      • Facilitating CCEW/Price College student placement
      • Identifying appropriate intellectual property projects for student engagement
    • Teach or co-teach additional entrepreneurship sections as assigned by the Management Division Director to fulfill teaching requirements under the Renewable-term Faculty Policy (minimum 6 courses per year taught in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Price</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">College</st1:placetype></st1:place>, in the CCEW or in some combination of the two).
    • Support the Center for Entrepreneurship under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Center.  This includes:
      • Faculty advisor for the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization.
      • Providing leadership in developing and organizing professional development programs and events for students (e.g. field trips to visit venture capitalists).
      • Managing the efforts in positioning Management Division Entrepreneurship Program in national rankings (e.g. completing surveys, marketing the program etc.).
      • Providing leadership in Entrepreneurship student outcome assessment and follow-up activities.
    • Assume additional institutional and academic service duties as may be agreed upon with the Management Division Director/ VP for Technology Development or his/her designate.  It is anticipated that, based upon the experience and interest of the successful candidate, the details of this aspect of the job will be crafted and approved among the applicable stakeholders, including the candidate.
    • Abide by all <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">Oklahoma</st1:placename></st1:place> policies and procedures applicable to academic faculty.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required:

    • MBA, Masters in Management/Related Discipline or CPA
    • Experience in managing and/or funding technology-based entrepreneurial ventures
    • Excellent spoken and written English language skills
    • Evidence of excellent teaching ability

    Preferred:

    ·        Earned doctorate/Juris Doctor, preferably with a background in technology development

    • At least three years, full time experience teaching at a <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">US</st1:place></st1:country-region> four-year institution of higher learning
    • Experience teaching Entrepreneurship

    ·        At least one year teaching at a AACSB accredited institution

    ·        Experience in student professional development activities

    ·        Experience working with professional communities

    ·        Strong set of industry contacts in areas such as technology, management, and funding resources
