    Pardon cross-postings.
Query on interest in participating in a PDW proposal: Are you interested in participating in an AOM PDW:  Tentative Title: Professionalising a Cottage Industry: Training and Certification of Manuscript Reviewers for Academic Conference Papers and Academic Journal Articles, or Not

Publications typically form a significant proportion of reasons for hiring, performance evaluations and tenure applications of tertiary education academics. Success in publication is usually in the hands of volunteer reviewers supporting the conferences and journals. While most journal editors and journal area editors have an informal list of reliable reviewers who do a professional job, there is no system supporting quality of reviewers and reviews. This PDW will discuss propositions for who, what, when, where, why, and how in the evaluation of the current manuscript review process in academia.
    Regards,
