The Southwest Academy of Management is now accepting nominations for the Distinguished Educator Award. Each year at the Annual Meeting, SWAM seeks to recognize one of our colleagues for outstanding accomplishments as an educator.
Below are the criteria for nomination:
1. The nominee must be an individual who teaches, conducts and and/or serves in the Management field. (Required)
2. The nominee has demonstrated that s/he is an exceptionally talented professor in the classroom.
3. The nominee has been involved in the development, dissemination, and implementation of significant pedagogical innovations.
4. The nominee has been effective at mentoring and developing SWAM graduate students and faculty.
5. The nominee has demonstrated a sustained record of support to SWAM through roles such as a program reviewer, program participant (discussant, session chair, and/or paper presenter), track chair, officer or etc.
Nominees are not eligible if:
1. They are currently a SWAM officer (President, President elect, Program Chair, Program Chair elect, Rep-At-Large, Secretary, Treasurer, Newsletter Editor, Historian, Proceedings Editor or Webmaster)
2. They are former recipients of the award.

A completed nomination package must be submitted before the deadline to be considered
A nomination package should contain the following minimum materials:
1. A letter of nomination (can be either a self nomination or the nomination from a third party) containing a detailed summary of the nominee's teaching, research, and service accomplishments, and his or her contributions/involvement with SWAM.
2. A complete professional vita for the nominee.
3. A summary of the nominee's teaching, research, and service awards received.
4. In addition to the letter of nomination, at least 3 recommendation letters from colleagues and/or students, at least one of whom should be a SWAM member.
November 30th is the deadline for submitting completed nomination materials. These nomination materials should be submitted before or by the deadline to the SWAM Senior Representative-at-Large, Mark Poulos (markp@stedwards.edu). Late or incomplete nomination packages will not be considered.
