    The University of Amsterdam Business School has a vacancy for an Assistant professor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

    The core tasks of an assistant professor are teaching and research. The emphasis in teaching will be on innovation management. In the case of a tenure track appointment the teaching load will take up 50% of time, in the case of a non-tenure track appointment the tasks are mainly focused on teaching. Teaching will be at the graduate (MSc), executive and undergraduate (BSc) level. Research is aimed at international top journals, especially in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation management.

    Requirements:

    Candidates should have a PhD in the field of entrepreneurship and/or innovation management, preferably with a background in business administration. They will be evaluated on their potential for and/or record of excellence in teaching and research.

    Conditions of employment:

    An assistant professor not in a tenure track position will be offered a contract for two years that afterwards can become a permanent position. Only for the position not in a tenure track is a part-time appointment possible. An assistant professor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation in a tenure track will be offered a position for six years. In the first three years the assistant professor must meet the first set of criteria to have the contract run for the last three years. Upon meeting the criteria at the end of the sixth year, a permanent contract will be offered. The salary is between € 3324 and € 5171 based on 38.0 hours per week.

    The starting date will be 1 February 2016 or such other date as may be mutually agreed.

    Department:

    The Amsterdam Business School (ABS) is part of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Amsterdam. The Entrepreneurship & Innovation section conducts research and offers education in two interrelated management challenges: creating new businesses and realizing innovations. The E&I section offers a broad range of educational programs, including:

    • Two specialization tracks in the MSc Business Administration
    - Specialization track Entrepreneurship & Innovation
    - Specialization track Entrepreneurship & Management in the Creative Industries
    • MSc Entrepreneurship (in collaboration with VU University)
    • Various master electives and bachelor courses
    • Executive education

    The research of the Entrepreneurship & Innovation section focuses on themes as entrepreneurship, investment and crowdfunding; entrepreneurship, careers and networks; (service) innovation management; entrepreneurship and behavioral economics; entrepreneurship and innovation in creative industries.

    Faculty members publish in international peer-reviewed journals including Organization Science; Journal of Business Venturing; Journal of Management Studies; Journal of Service Management; Journal of Management; Journal of Labor Economics; and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice.
