The Department of Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Innovation at Lancaster University Management School is seeking to make a further Professorial appointment in Entrepreneurship and/or Innovation. You must have an international research profile evidenced through publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals, an international reputation, evidence of grant funding and/or a reputation for engagement with practice. You will be expected to develop and provide leadership across the subject field through high profile research, teaching and managerial activities and further extend the Department’s international networks and collaborations, research profile and its strategy to advance and support its ambitions to lead entrepreneurship education, research and practice in the global arena. As a senior scholar, you will also be expected to contribute actively to the social and academic lives at the Department as well as participate in the guidance of doctoral students and junior faculty.

The Department has been recognised by Elsevier as 7th in the world for publication quality in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Research. It houses two leading international Centres – the Sir Roland Smith Centre for Strategic Management and the Centre for Family Business. Members of the Department are active contributors to the international academic community holding Associate Editor and/or editorial board positions and key leadership positions. Members also publish in leading international journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Organisation Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice and Academy of Management Learning and Education. The Department also houses a dedicated business engagement function actively working with the business community; regionally, nationally and internationally. This creates a distinctive link to practice and excellent avenues for research. It also has a network of 50 entrepreneurs in residence (EiRs) who are actively engaged in the Department’s research and teaching activities. The combination of these activities have led to the achievement of Gold status in the Association of Business Schools Small Business Charter, an ESRC Outstanding Impact in Business award and a £32 million government grant to support the strengthening of the UK’s SME base. To deliver on its policy agenda, the Department also works closely with the University’s Work Foundation based in London.
