    Assistant Professor in Strategic Management (2 positions)

    Responsibilities
    The College of Business Administration at Northeastern University invites applications for two Assistant Professor positions in Strategic Management, effective September 2007. Undergraduate teaching will be in the college's nationally ranked Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in International Business programs. Graduate teaching will be in the full-time and part-time MBA, programs. Salary is competitive and negotiable, depending on doctoral status, rank and experience. Support for research is available. Northeastern's Undergraduate degree program is ranked 37th in the USA (Business Week, May 2006). Its Bachelor of Science in International Business program is ranked 13th in the country (U.S. News and World Report, August 2005) and has been ranked in the top 20 for the past several years.

    Qualifications
    Candidates must possess the doctoral degree and have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarly research and to working with a diverse student population. Ph.D. Candidates who expect to have a completed Ph.D. by the summer of 2007 are encouraged to apply. Previous teaching experience and scholarly productivity is valued, as is previous business experience, particularly in a managerial capacity.

    The Strategy Faculty: Strategic management is a required capstone course for all undergraduate and graduate business programs taught by a nationally known faculty possessing wide industry and academic experience. As the home of many world-class organizations and Northeastern University, Boston provides many opportunities for faculty and students to research management theories and practices with the cooperation and support of leading local, regional, national and international for-profit firms and non-profit institutions.  Strategic management is part of the General Management Group, which includes staff with expertise in law and ethics.
    Research Support: Faculty members are expected to be active in research and publishing. Support is available in the form of summer funding, release time from teaching, graduate research assistants, and travel stipends for presentations at academic conferences. Research fellowships for tenure-track assistant professors are available on a competitive basis.
