    The Department of International Business at San Francisco State University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in International Business to begin in the fall of 2016. 

     

    A successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of competence in teaching and researching in the field of international business. Special consideration will be given to those with expertise in emerging economies. A research and teaching focus on International Entrepreneurship and Global Leadership is a plus.

     

    The International Business Department is one of the largest and oldest International Business programs in the country with nearly 600 undergraduate students in the concentration. There are also emphases offered in International Business in the graduate programs. Both the faculty and students are highly diverse groups of people, reflecting the special nature of the San Francisco Bay Area and the Pacific Rim.  
     
    The College of Business is accredited by the AACSB at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The college offers graduate and undergraduate degrees and serves approximately 400 graduate and 6,000 undergraduate students. Courses are offered both day and evening. There are approximately 100 full-time tenure-track faculty members. 

    Qualifications:

    Candidates should have an earned Ph.D. in Business (closely related fields will also be considered) from universities accredited by AACSB or EQUIS. 

    Candidates are preferred who demonstrate competence in International Business in a geographical area in the Pacific Rim, Europe, or Latin America, although special consideration will be given to those with expertise or a commitment to emerging and developing economies.

    Candidates should have a strong background in international business and related areas of teaching and research, preferably having a track record of published research in international business and evidence of excellence in working with students from highly diverse backgrounds.

    Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach courses in the areas of international business as well as potential and willingness to develop and deliver new courses in specialized topic areas.

    Candidates must have an active record of scholarship related to their specialty area as well as evidence of excellence and potential in research and intellectual contributions. Excellence in teaching and scholarship must be demonstrated.

    Candidates are preferred who have teaching and/or research experience with a large, diverse student body. Candidates are preferred who have experience in multicultural settings.

    Other qualifications that are preferred include the ability to work cooperatively, and evidence of interpersonal skills and collegiality

    Responsibilities

    The position requires graduate and undergraduate teaching in International Business, mentoring and advising graduate and undergraduate students, developing an active ongoing scholarship program (including a program of scholarly work, international learning experience, curriculum development, etc.) in one's area of specialty, and ongoing committee and service assignments. Detailed position description is available at http://cob.sfsu.edu/faculty-job-opportunities.

    Rank and salary: Assistant Professor. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The CSU provides generous health, retirement and other benefits.
