    ACADEMIC DIRECTOR AND SENIOR LECTURER POSITION IN INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

     

    The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Academic Director and Senior Lecturer in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.  The successful candidate will teach classes in the nationally-ranked McGuire Program and provide direction for academic course offerings and the overall program.  The Senior Lecturer position of this role will be offered as a multi-year appointment to begin as early as January 2016.  The Academic Director portion of the role will be offered as a year-to-year appointment in accordance with Arizona Board of Regents policy.  The Academic Director and Senior Lecturer will report to the Executive Director of the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship.

     

    An earned graduate degree in entrepreneurship, management, marketing, or a related discipline is required, but an earned doctorate degree is preferred.  Candidates must demonstrate an established record of engaged teaching, academic experience specifically related to entrepreneurship and innovation, an ability to work collaboratively with tenure- and non-tenure-track faculty and academic program administrators, and comfort in a facilitative role with students.  Preferred qualifications include teaching awards or other evidence of exceptional teaching, demonstrated application of experiential pedagogy, a record of success in directing a program, and entrepreneurial experience.

     

    Duties and responsibilities of the position include:

    • Teach multiple graduate or undergraduate courses each year.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum, make decisions about program operations, and manage and maintain external relationships and the reputation of the McGuire program.
    • Coordinate the courses the McGuire Center faculty offer in other academic programs in the College and develop new academic initiatives.
    • Work closely with the Executive Director to participate in and contribute to McGuire Center / Eller College service activities and advance the entrepreneurial mission of the Center in the Eller College and across the University of Arizona.
