BABSON COLLEGE- POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT, DEAN OF THE UNDERGRADUATE SCHOOL

Babson College seeks an entrepreneurial leader, committed to innovative pedagogy and outstanding student experience, to serve as Dean of the Undergraduate School. Babson is a global leader in entrepreneurship education, a private institution offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in management, as well as executive education programs, ranked among the best in the world. It is distinguished at both the undergraduate and graduate levels for its integration of theory and practice. Babson enrolls over 2,100 full-time undergraduate and 940 graduate students, with 190 full-time faculty serving all Babson divisions and programs. Its annual operating budget is $183 million, and its endowment stands at $332 million.

The Undergraduate School is the heart of Babson College, the oldest and largest of its three schools. The Dean will join an experienced faculty and senior leadership team in shaping the quality and direction of the college for the next decade. S/he will participate in the development and implementation of a new Academic Master Plan and in the preparation for the College's centennial in 2019. S/he will guide curricular innovation, advocate for the school internally and externally, and strengthen the already robust undergraduate student experience.

Babson College has been highly ranked for many years in a variety of categories.  Babson's undergraduate program has been ranked #1 in entrepreneurship education for the past 18 years by U.S. News & World Report and is ranked 26th overall in the 2014 Bloomberg Businessweek.  In addition,

Money magazine ranked Babson as its No. 2 college overall in the United States. Notably, Money also awarded Babson a Value - Added Grade of "A" due in part to the College's high graduation rate and the early career earnings of its alumni. Babson is the only College in Money's Top 5 to receive an "A" grade.

An independent, not-for-profit institution, Babson is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

Appointed by the President and reporting to the Provost, the Dean will be a respected academician who can support the faculty in their teaching and research; an innovative leader who can sustain Babson's reputation while continually refreshing its academic programs, and an imaginative educator who will guide the school strategically, positioning it as a model not just for business education but for higher education in general, a benchmark in the national conversation about the future of college.
