We seem to take little time to debate some of the big issues in entrepreneurship. So we seem to get bandwagon effects, where things come into vogue, such as the lean startup or the business model canvas. Yet, serious discussion is important if entrepreneurship as a discipline is to matter. An example was the discussion on this listserv about the role of lecture versus experiential learning in entrepreneurship. Accordingly, we would like to invite you to attend the Annual Meetings of the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers which is being hosted by the University of Florida. The Conference will take place in Gainesville, FL on Friday and Saturday, October 30-31. A special feature this year will be four 'Great Debates in Entrepreneurship'. These will include:
Great Debate I: Teaching vs. Doing – Is there a Role for Lecture and Content in Entrepreneurship Education?
Great Debate II: Entrepreneurial Ecosystem - Weak Metaphor or Genuine Concept?
Great Debate III: Is the Business Plan Really Dead and Should It Be?
Great Debate IV: Does the Lean Start up Deserve all the Hype?
We have a packed program that also includes 4 unique tracks, 2 fabulous keynoters, 34 sessions featuring best practices and leading edge innovations, and over 100 presenters representing the best of entrepreneurship worldwide.
To register for the Conference, just go to http://www.gcec2015.com/ . If you have questions, contact Jamie Kraft at jamie.kraft@warrington.ufl.edu or Michael Morris at michael.morris@warrington.ufl.edu.
