  • 1.  Strategy and Entrepreneurship Positions at Ole Miss

    The Management Department of the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi invites applications for two faculty positions in Strategic Management and/or Entrepreneurship. This position is tenure track at the assistant/associate professor rank. 


    We have a vibrant and active research group that has published over the last two years in  Academy of Management Journal, IEEE Transactions, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management and the Strategic Management Journal 


    Duties: To teach undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral level courses in management; and to perform duties assigned by the Dean of the School of Business Administration and Chair of the Department of Management. Applicants with a specialization in either strategy or entrepreneurship will be considered. The normal teaching load for this position for a research-active faculty member is 2/2 course load (6 credit hours per each semester, Fall and Spring) at the undergraduate, MBA, and/or PhD level. There is the option to teach summer courses for additional pay subject to course and funding availability.

     

    Required Qualifications: Applicants for the rank of assistant professor must currently hold a Ph.D. in management or entrepreneurship (or must complete all degree requirements by August 2016). Applicants for this rank must demonstrate compelling research potential and be able to present evidence of teaching effectiveness in Strategic Management and/or Entrepreneurship.  All successful candidates are expected to possess excellent oral and written communication skills.  No candidate will be considered who does not meet the departmental AACSB standards for Scholarly Academics (SA). 

     

    As the state flagship university, The University of Mississippi enrolls over 20,000 students drawn from all parts of the United States and the world.  The School of Business Administration is accredited by AACSB and offers programs at the undergraduate, MBA and PhD levels. Approximately 3,500 undergraduate, MBA and PhD students are currently enrolled in the School.

    The anticipated starting date for both positions is August, 2016. Salary is competitive. Applications will be considered immediately. The positions will be open until filled or until the search committee decides to close the search.
