    Dear Colleagues and PhD students,
Registration is now open for an exciting 5 day structural equation modeling and multilevel modeling workshop using Mplus from February 1-5, 2016 at the University of Melbourne. Both traditional and Bayesian methods of estimation and inference will be highlighted. Slides, published datasets, annotated program code, and program output will be provided to all participants. Catering will also be provided. Course information is as follows:

    OVERVIEW:
This intensive course will provide attendees with practical knowledge of many issues surrounding structural equation modeling and multilevel modeling. Models incorporating both cross-sectional and longitudinal data from published work will be treated. Econometric methods for working with instrumental variables to make causal inferences will be presented. Following completion of the course, participants will be able to creatively use structural equation models and multilevel models in a program of research with both cross-sectional and longitudinal data. This will allow using existing data to test new theories and hypotheses. Researchers will also gain insight into research design to allow more creative and comprehensive theorizing and hypothesis testing.

    TOPICS COVERED:
    1) Introducing Mplus: Mplus language, regression, covariation, and path analysis.
    2) Popular Regression Tools: Mediators, moderators, and instrumental variables.
    3) Working with Latent Variables: Confirmatory factor analysis structural equation modelling.
    4) Multilevel Modeling: Random intercepts, random slopes, multilevel path analysis, and multilevel SEM.
    5) Latent Growth Modeling: Longitudinal data and processes, with application in MLM and SEM.

    PAST COURSE RATINGS AND COMMENTS
Average ratings from the recent course were a 4.8/5 on questions assessing the quality of the instruction and the materials. Written comments include, 'Really well organised. Mike is an excellent presenter - really animated and responsive to questions. He made a tough/dry subject fun and interesting. A great course;' 'Great coverage of different techniques. Topics covered are abundant. Great illustrations with examples. Quite a practical approach (not only theoretical) especially with the examples in Mplus. Lots of materials that can be reviewed post workshop for self-learning;' and 'Loved the course. Mike was engaging and made the content easily accessible. Very pleased to have references provided for further learning and feel like I've gained a thorough base understanding of the material that can now be built on (with greater enthusiasm than I expected).'

    REGISTRATION FEES:
Academic and non-academic fees are $1795 AUD  ($1305 USD)
PhD student fees are $795 AUD  ($585 USD)
