The Department of Management invites nominations and applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the area of Entrepreneurship.
Position Description. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Management, the Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship position requires research, teaching and service responsibilities as well as a terminal degree. This position will benefit from the support of our Business Innovation Group (BIG), headquartered at the Georgia Southern University City Campus. BIG was founded in 2014 when the Small Business Development Center, Bureau of Business Research and Economic Development, and Center for Entrepreneurial Learning and Leadership agreed to work together to leverage resources and maximize the impact their programs have on the economic vitality of the region. This relationship provides students with experiential opportunities and interaction with experienced entrepreneurs. The ability to contribute to a positive collegial work environment in the Department, College, and University is also expected as well as a strong orientation to recruiting, retaining, and mentoring qualified students. The position is a 9-month tenure-track appointment, beginning August 1, 2016, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications:
• PhD/DBA in management or terminal degree in a related field from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution by August 1, 2016.
• Evidence of the ability to develop, execute and maintain a strong research agenda
• Evidence of effective communication skills
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution
Preferred Qualifications:
• University-level teaching experience in Entrepreneurship
• Experience teaching via web-based instruction
• A secondary teaching interest in either Strategic Management or International Management/Business
