    The Department of Management at California State University, Fullerton, invites candidates to apply for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor to begin Fall 2016.

    The Mihaylo College of Business and Economics at California State University, Fullerton seeks to fill a tenure-track endowed chair position in Family Business with a faculty member who possesses a distinguished teaching and research record in this emerging field. This individual will join a Family Business program that is a Center of Excellence in the College. The Family Business Council and Center was established in 1995 and already sponsors one of the nation’s best family business programs.

    Position
    Opportunities for this position include the following:
    • Teach undergraduate, graduate, and executive education courses in Family
    Business and a secondary management area (e.g. Organizational Behavior, Strategy);
    • Drive development of Family Business academic and professional curriculum;
    • Play an integral role in the CSUF Family Business Council;
    • Advise students interested in family business;
    • Conduct and encourage research in family business issues;
    • Work with the Center Director to grow the Council and support base;
    • Participate in department, College, and university activities.

    Qualifications
    The individual should possess the following credentials:
    • Relevant Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution; (Degree must be completed prior to the beginning of the appointment.)
    • Faculty experience to warrant appointment at the rank of associate or full professor;
    • Strong commitment to teaching and research;
    • Ability to interact effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of Faculty and students;
    • Five years of experience and/and/or equivalent qualifications in the Family Business area: such as relevant research and/or history/experience working with family business;
    • University teaching experience and executive-level business experience are beneficial.
    • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

    Rank and Salary
    The position is at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, tenure-track. Salary is commensurate to rank, qualifications, and experience.     Application Procedure

    To be considered for a preliminary interview at the National Academy of Management Conference August 7-11, please submit a Curriculum vitae and Cover Letter to https://apps.fullerton.edu/facultyrecruitment and select 7941BR to begin the application process.

    A complete online application must be submitted prior to the final, on-campus interviews, and would need to include the following materials:

    Letters of interest (relating your experience to the required qualifications);
    1. Curriculum vitae;
    2. Unofficial graduate transcripts;
    3. Recent publications;
    4. Teaching evaluation (including student comments);
    5. Examples of technology usage in teaching;
    6. Three letters of reference (see instruction below).

    On the References page of the online application, enter information and email addresses for three referents who will provide a confidential letter of reference for your application. They will immediately receive a request via email along with information on uploading the letter. You will be able to verify that each letter has been received by CSUF by logging back in to the recruitment system.

    The search committee will conduct first round interviews for this position at the National Academy of Management (Vancouver, Canada). Screening for interviews at the AOM Annual Meeting will occur from vitae and letters received no later than August 1, 2015. Applications postmarked by September 7, 2015 will receive full consideration. Applications received after September 7, 2015 will be considered as needed.

    The Department
    The management department has 24 tenured and tenure-track faculty supplemented by over 30 full and part-time adjunct faculty. Tenure-track faculty members have published their research in journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Management, Organizational Behavior & Human Decision Processes, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management Journal, and Decision Sciences, among others. The department houses three active centers of excellence – The Center for Leadership, the Entrepreneurship Center and the Family Business Center – which provide opportunities for exposure to business organizations and potential collaborations. Our faculty are frequently recognized across the College and University for excellence in both innovative teaching and scholarly research.
