The Management and Organization Department at the Michael G. Foster School of Business, University of Washington invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time tenure-track position in Entrepreneurship beginning in September 2016. Rank is at the Assistant Professor level. Candidates must have a PhD or foreign equivalent. A successful candidate whose degree has not been conferred yet may be appointed on an acting basis. We seek candidates who have an active program of research and teaching in entrepreneurship and who have the potential to perform well in graduate teaching. Salary is extremely competitive. The Foster School of Business is well known for its MBA program, as well as undergraduate, PhD and Executive programs. The School's entrepreneurship program is ranked among top programs in the country and the Management and Organization department was recently ranked as the second most productive group in the nation. The department also sponsors the annual West Coast Research Symposium, a highly respected forum for technology entrepreneurship.
The Foster School recently moved into its new home in Paccar Hall, a 135,000 square feet state-of-the-art classroom and faculty office building. Full time tenure track faculty members include Bruce Avolio, Chris Barnes, Greg Bigley, Warren Boeker, Xiao-Ping Chen, Ryan Fehr, Abhinav Gupta, Benjamin Hallen, Charles Hill, Vandra Huber, Michael Johnson, Suresh Kotha, Tom Lee, Emily Cox Pahnke, Scott Reynolds, David Sirmon, Kevin Steensma, David Tan, Elizabeth Umphress and Crystal Fahr Zhang.
The Seattle metro area houses many world-class organizations like Amazon, Costco, REI, Nordstrom, Boeing, Microsoft, the Gates Foundation, and Starbucks that have close ties to the University and the Foster School. The region is also known for its vibrant entrepreneurial community, a community that is fully engaged with Foster's programs in entrepreneurship.
