    Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Management – Position #103515

    Washington State University (Pullman Campus)

     

    The Department of Management, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship in the Carson College of Business at Washington State University located in Pullman, WA is seeking applicants for one or more full-time tenure-track position(s) in Entrepreneurship/Strategy starting in August 2016. Appointment is anticipated at the Assistant Professor rank, but candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor.

     

    Requirements:

     

    An earned Ph.D. (or strong evidence of completion of Ph.D. before employment start date) in Entrepreneurship or Management or a closely related field by the hire date.  Demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality academic journals in Entrepreneurship or Management. Demonstrated ability to teach Entrepreneurship or Management courses. To be considered for the level of Associate Professor, candidates are required to have six years of experience as an Assistant Professor or equivalent.  To be considered for the level of Full Professor, candidates are required to have six years of experience as an Associate Professor or equivalent.

     

    Duties:

     

    The position requires teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels on topics such as new venture business planning, entrepreneurial management, small business strategy and planning, entrepreneurial finance, entrepreneurial marketing, and strategic management. Teaching in online programs may also be expected. The normal teaching load is 6 hours (2 courses/semester). A productive research program is required and must result in publications in high-quality journals. The successful candidate will be expected to make significant service contributions to the department, college, university, community, and profession commensurate with rank.

     

    Term and Compensation:

     

    Nine-month academic-year basis, beginning August 16, 2016. Salary and benefits are competitive; retirement system is TIAA/CREF.

    The MISE department in the Carson College of Business includes 17 tenure-track and 10 clinical faculty. Seven tenure-track faculty in Pullman hold appointments in management and/or entrepreneurship. The MISE department is home to a research-focused doctoral program, enrolling 2-3 students to study management and/or entrepreneurship each year.
