Faculty Position in Entrepreneurship & Innovation
    College of Business
    Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana

BUTLER UNIVERSITY seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position (Assistant or Associate) who largely will be devoted to teaching in the College's entrepreneurship and innovation program.  The position starts August 2016 and the standard teaching load is nine credit hours per semester with release time available based on research productivity. The primary discipline for the position is Entrepreneurship, with an open secondary capability.

The College enrolls all first-year students in a business plan course that serves as a vehicle for introducing students to business fundamentals and generates excitement for further study. All second-year students enroll in a more advanced business creation course where in just one year, students form teams, create a business idea, seek funding from a group of business executives.  If the student group receives funding, they have the option to start and run their real business. The class is facilitated by a team, consisting of one faculty member and a few business mentors.  Other entrepreneurial courses are taught as electives within this dynamic major.  The successful candidate will be a mainstay teaching in these programs and in the MBA program's Entrepreneurship & Innovation concentration. We believe that an individual faculty member can make a difference in the life of a student and in the shape of the College.

Candidates should have or be near completion of the Ph.D. They should also be qualified to teach in the undergraduate and graduate programs.  Candidates must provide evidence that they will be excellent teachers, committed to working with a diverse population of students. They must also show that they will be productive researchers and display an interest in vigorous interaction with the business community.

Fully accredited by AACSB-International, the College of Business enjoys the distinction of having top 50 ranked programs for both the undergraduates program of 850 full-time students, and part-time MBA program of nearly 300 students.  It also has a growing Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) program. A vibrant university, Butler is committed to providing personalized liberal and professional education to 4,000 undergraduate and 500 graduate students in its six colleges (Business, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Communication, Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Education, and Fine Arts). Extensive internship and service opportunities are made possible by Butler's location five miles from downtown Indianapolis, the twelfth largest city in the United States. Butler is committed to developing a diverse pool of applicants and encourages the application and nomination of women and people of color. Compensation and support are competitive. Letters of interest should include a curriculum vitae and names of three references. Please indicate whether you will be attending the Academy of Management Meeting in August of 2015.  Review begins by 15 July 2015 and continues until the position is filled. We require all applications to be submitted electronically and addressed to:
