The PDW will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2015 between 10:45AM - 1:15PM at Vancouver Convention Center Room 223 & 224.
Multilevel perspectives are frequently called for or advocated by researchers in strategic management. Such research often involves a number of conceptual and empirical challenges and considerations that are new to many researchers in the strategy area, thus potentially hindering the development of high quality multilevel strategy research. To help advance multilevel perspectives in strategic management, this PDW seeks to provide an overview of the best practices in performing multilevel research, as well as collectively discuss potential problems or obstacles that researchers may face in this type of research. Our aim is to gather insight from a diverse set of multilevel scholars that engage in conceptual and empirical (quantitative and qualitative) research in multiple management areas such as microfoundations, human capital, organizational learning, practice theory, leadership, teams and cognition. It is our hope that some common themes will emerge throughout the workshop and that this will help strategy researchers to identify best practices that can be deployed in their multilevel studies. The overall goal is to promote the progression of high quality multilevel strategic management research.
The workshop will include speaker presentations followed by roundtable discussions with the speakers to provide an opportunity for participants to discuss their own research.
