In recent years, the Austrian perspective has had increasing presence in entrepreneurship and strategic management research. This workshop offers an introduction to and structured discussion about the past, present, and future of Austrian perspectives in entrepreneurship and strategy, with particular attention paid to two recent developments: work connecting Austrian economic theory to strategic factor markets logic and the microfoundations initiative in strategy, and theories of opportunity formation and firm emergence in entrepreneurship. We accomplish our objective in three "acts"-a short primer on Austrian economics and its influence on entrepreneurship and strategy; presentations of exemplary research in this stream; and a semi-structured question-and-answer panel discussion.
