2015 Canadian Council of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (CCSBE) Conference
Mind the Gap: Bridging Practice, Pedagogy and Protocol
May 28th - 30th 2015 (Conference) | May 27th - 28th 2015 (Pre-Conference)
MacEwan University School of Business is pleased to host the annual conference of the Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (CCSBE) in Edmonton, Alberta. Entrepreneurs, educators, policy makers, business owners, students, and others interested in promoting small business and entrepreneurship are encouraged to attend this event. Submission Guidelines:
Submissions should be made in Microsoft Word format. PDF formats will not be accepted. These should not exceed two (2) single-spaced pages with 1” margins in Times New Roman 12pt font, and should include:
• Title
• Topic(s) Discussed – a list of topics discussed will suffice
• Your ability to present in French, English or both languages
• And either:
o Abstract – abstracts should clearly state the purpose, method and expected findings of the study and be no more than 500 words; or,
o Presentation/Workshop/Panel Summary – should describe the format and content of the presentation, workshop or panel and should be no
more than 500 words in length.
All submissions will be peer-reviewed. Authors/Presenters/Facilitators must not, therefore, reveal their identities within the Microsoft Word document. The official languages of the conference are English and French. Submissions may be in either language and should be emailed as an attachment with the subject “CCSBE Conference Administration” and sent to
macdonaldc@macewan.ca. Please include the full name(s), title(s), organization(s) represented of all authors/presenters/facilitators in the email body.
Tracks are dependent on paper themes, and may include:

▪ Global Entrepreneurship
▪ Authentic Entrepreneurship through Education
▪ Social Entrepreneurship
▪ Building, Launching and Growing Tech Ventures
▪ Web-Based Entrepreneurship
▪ Technology in the Entrepreneurship Classroom
▪ Immigrant Entrepreneurship
▪ Technology and Social Media in Small Business
▪ Aboriginal Entrepreneurship
Timeline:
Paper abstracts and workshop proposal submissions Due: March 6th
Notification of Acceptance: March 20th
100-word Program Summary Due: April 3rd
(Optional) Full Papers Due: Apr. 17th
Review Process:
Selection for inclusion in the 2015 CCSBE Conference program will be based upon relevance to the theme, linkages to the CCSBE ethos, quality, and originality in the judgment of at least two independent reviewers. Your proposal may be selected for one of several time slots in our conference program which range from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours.
Academic papers meeting all requirements of the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (JSBE) review process may be ‘fast-tracked’ for publication in JSBE. Full academic paper submission guidelines will follow the same structure as the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship found at:
