Assistant / Associate Professor of Management
Position: The position is a 9-month instructor position starting August 2015,
Responsibilities include teaching four three-hour courses (12 credit hours) per semester at the undergraduate and possibly the graduate level. Some courses may need to be developed and delivered using the Internet, video and/or other interactive technologies. Additionally, candidates are required to be engaged in scholarly activities, and to render service to the profession and to the College of Business & Entrepreneurship. Normal annual faculty evaluation is based on teaching (60%), research (20%), and service (20%).
Qualifications: A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management, or a related field is preferred. D.B.A. faculty candidates must have research-based doctoral studies and have an established track record of research. Ph.D. ABD faculty candidates should have expectations to finish dissertation work within three years of initial ABD status, and must have demonstrated research potential. ABD candidates will be expected to complete their dissertation work within one year of employment at FHSU. A record of successful teaching is desirable. Faculty candidates who are considered academically qualified (or SA per AACSB 2013 standards) under college accreditation guidelines will receive strongest consideration.
Instruction
Faculty members generally teach four courses a semester. The division of work duties may be modified through negotiation between the faculty member and the Department Chair when such a change in assignment will mutually benefit the faculty member and Department.
Among the courses the successful applicant should be qualified for, and could be assigned to instruct will include:
· MGT 101 – Introduction to Business
· MGT 301 – Management Principles
· MGT 410 – Organizational Behavior OR MGT 499 – Business Policy & Strategy
· MGT 411 – Applied Management Skills
· ENTR 301 – Introduction to Entrepreneurship
· ENTR XXX – variety of intermediate Entrepreneurship courses (to be determined)
Scholarship
The successful candidate will exhibit a scholarly interest and a commitment to remain active in a scholarly manner throughout his or her career. Specific scholarship requirements will align with the pursuit of AACSB accreditation in the College of Business & Entrepreneurship. The Department of Management and Marketing recognizes scholarship of discovery, integration, application, and pedagogy. Joint publications are accepted and encouraged – particularly in collaboration with students.
Service
Service to the University, College of Business and Entrepreneurship, department, the region, and profession is expected of each faculty member.
Salary and Benefits: Salary is competitive for educational qualifications. Benefits include medical, life, and contributory TIAA-CREF or similar retirement systems.

The Department: The Department of Management and Marketing has 16 faculty members with approximately 750 upper-level students enrolled. Functional business specialties of Management, HRM, Marketing, Tourism & Hospitality Management, Corporate Communication, Training & Development, and Business Education are included in the Department.
The College: The College of Business and Entrepreneurship offers business undergraduate degree programs in Management, Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Accounting, Management Information Systems, Business Education, Finance, and International Business and Economics as well as an MBA.

Additional Information Applicable to This Position: Full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Management with a four-course load per semester (12 credit hours). Faculty candidates with an interest in or experience with teaching online are desired.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Organizational Behavior or Strategic Management and some combination of the following: Applied Management Skills, Management Principles and Introduction to Business. Preference may be given to candidates with applied business experience and or interests in entrepreneurship. Final candidate will have consented to and successfully completed a criminal background check.
