Hi, everybody! (And, yes, we still need reviewers :)

The Executive Committee will be meeting at the end of the month for its famous (?) Midwinter meeting. As a rep-at-large, part of my role is vox populi*, that is, the RALs are the voice of the members. Who we NEVER hear from!

If you have any thoughts, complaints, or suggestions -- please let me know soon. If you responded to this question right after you were foolish enough to elect me, could you re-send?

What might the Division do to make your work better? (Not just research but anything related to your delivering value to your students, your entrepreneurial community and your colleagues?

Especially ideas that need not cost much. :)

And definitely if there is a problem that we need to understand. The very reason we have so many RALs is to make sure that we are responsive. I am happy to speak for you but the other RALs (like Siri Terjesen) are awesome, so please feel free to respond to them, if you prefer.

Please feel free to respond to the listserv or privately. I need to file my initial report by the 20th of January.

p.s. And, did I mention we still need your brilliant reviewing skills?  :)

    Hi, Norris:

Thanks for taking the initiative to produce and distribute this announcement and ask ENTREP members what we think is needed is our Division...

But good ideas do cost a lot (to find) .... even when deployment may not these days (if we consider Internet) ... thinking on Larry Page and How Google Works ...

A case at hand, the alluring discussion and debate ignited in December by Pablo Martin de Holan "The bitter truth about Entrepreneurship", was such an active exchange never before seen in ENT ...

So in order to make ENT Division truly vox populi (known to all people) I propose to the Exec Comm to develop a forum to discuss provocative ideas that provide opportunity to learn 1) about different perspectives on ENT and 2) about interesting ENT members .... how each one thinks and deploys Entrepreneurship (above discussion uncovered wide variance) ...

Given that Entrepreneurship is without a doubt the most dynamic field in business, and increasingly related to evolution in neuro and behavioral sciences, not inducing "disruption is obstructing innovation" .... And status quo was not what Schumpeter intended when he envisioned that entrepreneurs would change and save the world.

So this is my reply, hoping you also hear from (until now) inactive members you have NEVER heard from before.

What might the Division do to make your work better? (Not just research but anything related to your delivering value to your students, your entrepreneurial community and your colleagues?

And definitely if there is a problem that we need to understand. The very reason we have so many RALs is to make sure that we are responsive. I am happy to speak for you but the other RALs (like Siri Terjesen) are awesome, so please feel free to respond to them, if you prefer.

    Kindly,

    Maria-Teresa Lepeley

They assume that learning how to build, tune and decorate a piano will automatically make you a good pianist. (...) That is the role of a business school: to act as a safe place, a sandbox where entrepreneurs can hone their skills and develop new ones, meet other entrepreneurs and investors, but especially, minimise the cost of their mistakes and decide if the exciting life of the entrepreneur is for them and their families."

Happy to engage in an Academic debate with you all around this, but please let´s not start a contest on who teaches better: the objective was not to point out at "good" and "bad" schools, but to discuss how to serve better the entrepreneurial ecosystem around our Universities and Business Schools
