The IEBM unit is a vibrant, highly motivated and ambitious research group striving for excellence in research, teaching and industry relationship/partnerships. We are looking for the professor who can help us advance; the applicant we are looking for is therefore characterized as being engaged, flexible, sharing, caring, hard-working, and driven by a commitment to our unit. Our work group lives up to these attributes, and we expect you to take on a leading role in reaching the IEBM team’s strategic goals.
Besides being a team-player, we expect applicants with a strong research profile. Applicants must have published high quality research articles on the topic of innovation/entrepreneurship in highly ranked scientific journals. The applicant will have extensive publishing knowledge and can, as professor, help guiding and exploring the full potential of the IEBM unit.
We provide access to first hand industry-university collaboration experience, as well as in Natural Science and Health faculties, and international collaborations (both in the developed and developing part of the world). IEBM team members have extensive applied knowledge and represent a research group renowned for their applied research skills. In particular, we expect that you will lead the IEBM team in its effort to become an important innovation research partner in international research partnerships involving the Natural Science and Health faculties. We expect that your own research portfolio will bring synergy to our existing research, and that you as a professor in the team will help develop young scholars, attract new projects, and create an even stronger network for the team.
Duties
In addition to being part of the IEBM team development, the professor is expected to be involved in the teaching and supervision tasks at bachelor and master levels related to her/his field, as well as areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, strategizing, business management and value chain issues. Duties include the applicant’s own research, assessment tasks, supervision and training of PhD fellows and other staff, and grant applications and management of externally funded projects.
Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, original scientific publications at an international level, including contributions to developments in their field, as well as their documented teaching qualifications. Managerial and outreach qualifications of applicants
including ability to attract external funding will also be considered. Applicants are required to have university level teaching experience. Formal pedagogical training or supervision equivalent to the University of Copenhagen Teacher Training Program for Assistant Professors is required. Specific experience with teaching innovation management and/or entrepreneurship is required; and it is an advantage if this also includes experience in teaching students enrolled in natural science study programs. In addition, it will be valued if the professor has experience in publishing both qualitative and quantitative work.
The professorship will be based in the Section for Production, Markets and Policy. The Section conducts research within the areas of management, microeconomics, and macroeconomics, with an emphasis on the national and international food and agricultural sector as well as natural sciences and health care. The section also has a wide portfolio of teaching responsibilities matching its research goals. Thus, the section offers a strong environment for interdisciplinary collaboration concerning both research and teaching.
