Dear IBERO, HRDIV, OB, BPS, ENTREP, and RMNET Colleagues,
I am emailing with an update regarding Management Research: The Journal of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management, which is an international journal dedicated to the advancement of management in private and public sector organizations with an Iberoamerican focus. Rita Cunha, the current editor-in-chief, has done an extraordinary job and worked tirelessly to improve the journal's quality, visibility, and impact. After several years of leading the journal, she has recently accepted new administrative responsibilities at her university that preclude her from allocating the sufficient time and energy to Management Research. So, she has decided to pass the baton to someone else.
I am delighted to announce that Martin Larraza Kintana has been appointed editor-in-chief of Management Research and will begin processing all new submissions as of January 1, 2015. Professor Larraza Kintana is an associate professor of organization and strategic management at Universidad Pública de Navarra, Spain. He earned his Ph.D. in economics and management from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (also in Spain). His research focuses on people's decision making behavior, particularly within organizations. Rooted in this primary interest, his most recent work addresses such issues as entrepreneurship and employees' responses to human resource management policies, in addition to the influence of non-economic utilities in the context of family-controlled firms. His research has appeared in Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Research, and other outlets. He has played important roles within the Iberoamerican Academy of Management, having served as its Secretary from 1998 to 2007, and elected vice-president-a position that he held until August 2014. He is a member of the editorial board of Management Research, served as co-editor for a special issue on "The role of non-economic utilities in family firms," and received Emerald Literati Network's 2013 Award for Excellence - Outstanding Reviewer in Management Research.
Professor Larraza Kintana is already working on putting together his editorial board (including adding associate editors), thinking about calls for special issues, and implementing other initiatives that will help enhance the journal's quality, visibility, and impact even further. Feel free to get in touch with him directly if you have any suggestions or ideas (email: martin.larraza@unavarra.es).
