GW October 2014 Entrepreneurship Conference on October 16-18, 2014 - Every October in Washington DC, international delegates representing major industry, NGOs, and government organizations come together to discuss the integration of entrepreneurship research and public policy at GWU. The theme of this year's conference is 'Growth, Competitiveness and Sustainability.'
Conference partners include the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), VISA Inc. Small Business, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Gallup Inc., the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the International Council for Small Business (ICSB). The opportunities for participants to gain knowledge and network with key decision makers in Washington DC will be significant over three (3) days of activities.
Thursday, October 16 is The Productive Development Financing and Marketplace Day hosted at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The program offers an IDB led panel on Latin America in the morning and a marketplace in the afternoon, where researchers are given the opportunity to discover new data sets related to firm creation, entrepreneurship, and public policy. The Panel Study of Entrepreneurial Dynamics (PSED), Global Entrepreneurship Development Institute (GEDI), the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. Census Bureau, the Kauffman Firm Survey and more will be represented.
The Opening Reception will be hosted at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Hall of Flags on Thursday evening, October 16, 2014.

Professor G. Thomas Lumpkin, PhD, The Chris J. Witting Chair in Entrepreneurship at Syracuse University
Professor Lumpkin is a globally recognized scholar whose research has been published in the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Management, Family Business Review and Strategic Management Journal.
Kevin Lenane, Founder and CEO of Veenome
Kevin founded Veenome in 2011 and has been its Chief Executive Officer since 2011. He is an experienced Mobile Product Manager and Business Development Expert with a keen sense of how location, platform and portability play into the mobile experience for businesses and consumers. He worked with clients at PointAbout including GM/OnStar, Microsoft, FEMA, The Huffington Post and various confidential military and aviation organizations.
Heekyung Min, Executive Vice President and Executive Director of Global CSV for CJ Corporation (S. Korea)
Prior to joining CJ, Ms. Min held various executive positions in both government and private companies with extensive experience in HR, Finance and Intercultural Management. In 2007, Heekyung acted as the Director General of the Business Opportunity Bureau at the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) in Incheon, Korea, responsible for leading the team that supervised the development of the city while promoting Korea's and IFEZ's investment opportunities to the world.
