Greetings Everyone!
Sorry to be back in touch again so soon, but we thought it important to alert you to a predatory scam using RTM's name and identity.
We've just been made aware that RTM has been hijacked: an unidentified party is using the Research-Technology Management name to solicit papers to a "scholarly" journal that charges high author fees and does not offer true peer review. Dr. Beall will add us to his list, and we are contacting Thomson Reuters to ensure they update their listing with our current contact information. We are also working to have the fraudulent website taken down and alerting Google to the scam.
Please note that our hijackers have not simply set up a website; they're sending out email solicitations for articles. A key indicator that a communication is fraudulent is the use of email addresses or web links using iriinc.org or iriinc with gmail.com. We have been at iriweb.org for several years now, so no legitimate communication from RTM or IRI should come from an iriinc.org or iriinc.com address or use links in that domain.
We ask that you share this information widely with your colleagues. If you receive an email you believe to be fraudulent, please forward it to me, at
gobble@iriweb.org , and to Michele Taussig at
taussig@iriweb.org .
