BPS Junior Faculty Paper Development Workshop (final call for papers)

Do you have a great paper that seems to be going nowhere? A paper that has been rejected from a journal or two, and you're not sure whether, and how, to proceed? Or a paper that has received contradictory reviews to which you're struggling to respond? Do you have a great empirical result but aren't sure if the theoretical contribution is sufficient for an A-level publication, or what other journals you should be considering? Do you feel your paper could really use some guidance from senior, more experienced faculty?

 If you answered YES to any of these questions, this PDW is for you!

 Now in its third year, the Junior Faculty Paper Development Workshop offers junior scholars a unique opportunity to receive developmental feedback on their current research projects. Specifically, it enables junior faculty who are struggling with papers in an advanced stage to engage in an in-depth discussion with experienced researchers who will read their work and offer guidance on how, and whether, to proceed.

Senior Participants: Juan Alcacer (Harvard Business School), Mary Benner (University of Minnesota), Julio de Castro (IE Business School), Sendil Ethiraj (London Business School), Martha Feldman (University of California, Irvine), Fabrizio Ferraro (IESE Business School), Suresh Kotha (University of Washington), Michael Leiblein (The Ohio State University), Michael Lenox (University of Virginia), Joseph Mahoney (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign), Kyle Mayer (University of Southern California), Phanish Puranam (INSEAD), Kaye Schoonhoven (University of California, Irvine), Balagopal Vissa (INSEAD), Todd Zenger (Washington University in St. Louis), and Anthea Zhang (Rice University).

Time: 8:00 – 11:00am, Saturday August 2nd

Eligibility and submission requirements:

The PDW is open to untenured faculty members only. An application is required. Interested participants should send an application to bps.paperworkshop@gmail.com that includes the following:

1.      The most recent version of their research paper
2.      Any reviews received – including rejection letters and / or friendly feedback
3.      A cover letter clearly stating the question(s) with which they are struggling

 Submission of these materials is a pre-requisite for participating in the PDW. Submission of an application implies availability to participate in the PDW. Deadline for applications is June 15, 2014. 

 Note that submission of an application does not automatically imply acceptance into the PDW. Applicants will be notified by July 1st whether their applications have been accepted or not. Accepted applicants will be provided with a registration code and further instructions.
