    *PDW Description*
The purpose of the PDW is to stimulate research into the multilevel nature
of knowledge transfer and knowledge creation within and between
organizations. While research has examined the influence of social networks
on innovation at different levels of analysis – the micro, meso and macro –
the micro-foundations of higher-level innovation networks and how these
different levels interact are poorly understood. This workshop aims to bring
together doctoral students and faculty from multiple topical domains who
share a common interest in, wish to understand better, and like to
contribute to multilevel innovation networks research.
This year we will focus on the conceptual complexity and methodological
challenges of studying multilevel innovation networks. The workshop starts
with short presentations by six experienced scholars, who will explain the
core theoretical concepts of multilevel network research, their own research
in the area and methodology, and the applicability of their work to future
research opportunities. This will be followed by Q&A with participants.
Next, to help participants learn about multilevel innovation networks
research and guide research in this domain, participants will discuss their
own experience and interests in the topic in small groups, facilitated by
the PDW presenters. The goal of this PDW is to develop a community of
scholars pursuing research on multilevel innovation networks.
