The Robinson College of Business seeks applications and nominations for a
tenure track faculty position in the area of entrepreneurship. Although
rank is open, we intend to hire at the more senior level (full or
associate). This position carries with it the Herman J. Russell
Distinguished Professorship in Entrepreneurship. This position is an
exceptional opportunity in entrepreneurship due to a combination of unique
and attractive resources. The successful candidate will provide leadership
in the internationally-renowned Herman J. Russell Sr. International Center
for Entrepreneurship, working with an Administrative and Community Outreach
Director of the Center, and will also play a role in the Robinson College
Society of Entrepreneurs, an existing group of successful entrepreneurs
from the Atlanta area who pay membership fees to participate in an
educational roundtable. There are many outstanding faculty colleagues with
interests in entrepreneurship and strategy in the Department of Managerial
Sciences as well as in other units of the College, the University, and
neighboring universities in the Atlanta area. The successful candidate will
begin employment in Fall, 2008.
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in a relevant field. The
individual selected for this position is expected to be an eminent scholar
with an international scholarly reputation, who will take a leadership role
in furthering the research and educational missions of the department and
college. Collegiality and a demonstrated ability to develop and work with
others to define and conduct research are important. The position includes
teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels in the College’s
academic programs. Interest and capability to contribute to executive
programs is a plus. Salary, teaching loads, and other types of support are
competitive with other research universities. The position is contingent
upon final budget approval by the University.

the country, and strongly supports entrepreneurship as a discipline. The
College expects and supports faculty research leading to publication in top

World Report. Georgia State has an extensive evening program and has
strong ties with the Atlanta business community, many of whom are alumni of
the College. The Robinson College has approximately 5,000 undergraduate,
1,500 master’s and 100 doctoral students.
